sign on the dotted line

i went to the district office and signed my contract yesterday. we discussed salary, benefits, pay schedule, etc. afterwards, i called my mom because i had no idea what they were telling me.

running total classroom decorating $$ spent: $220ish (ikea and jo-ann fabrics are life savers!)
running total classroom materials $$ spent: $200 (books and such)

so, now it's really, really official. im teaching 2nd grade.

holy wow.

i was able to pick up my keys today. ;) i wanted to check on the status of my room [there was a teacher leaving who had yet to move things out]. i walk up to the door and this is what i find.

well .. if that doesn't make it official, i don't know what does! i went inside the classroom and just took a deep breath and sat at my desk. this has been a long time coming and it feels great.
